Tumbling
Many people question cheerleading, and say, "Isn't cheerleading basically gymnastics?" The answer is yes, it is similar when it comes to tumbling. But, there are no stunts or dances in gymnastics. Tumbling is consisted of flips, such as back-handsprings, fulls, double fulls, punch fronts, back tucks, layouts, round-off, and so many more tricks. Below is a typical tumbling pass performed in a level 5 routine. The lower level of the team, the less difficult tumbling is. For example, level 1 tumbling contains simple skills, such as a roll, cartwheel, back-walkover and front-walkover. Then, as the level increases, the difficulty of the tumbling and stunts increases. Tumbling may look cool and is fun to do, but you can get very hurt, and for some people, it takes a while to get a skill down.
